National cyber intel partnership formed

Main Australian companies, together with Westpac, Telstra, and Woolworths, have joined the Nationwide Cyber Intel Partnership to boost collective cyber protection efforts.

Collaboration essential for cyber safety

The partnership emphasises collaboration, with firms sharing intelligence and methods to dam cyber threats.

“Efficient collaboration has a multiplicative impact,” Westpac’s Simon Brown (pictured above centre) stated.

“Working collectively helps the neighborhood reply faster to threats,” Woolworths’ Pieter van der Merwe (pictured above proper) stated.

Blocking phishing and malware threats
One key initiative is sharing phishing web site data to guard clients.

“We’ve developed a system to attach our processes so Telstra can block phishing websites,” Brown stated.

Telstra’s Narelle Devine stated that rip-off blocking is just the start, with plans to deal with malware subsequent.

Automation and scalability in focus

The partnership goals to automate and scale its threat-blocking programs.
